Bummin' in the Snow

Last night we got massive amounts of snow up here and I ended up spending the night at a friends instead of trying to trek home in the crazy blizzard. She gave me this necklace as my belated Christmas gift and we had a good ol' time. The past few days it's been really snowy and cold and I haven't felt like looking cute at all because I have been all kinds of grumpy. Today I figured my outfit was, while very comfy, good enough to post. This is a look at what I'm wearing when I'm not all goth all the time.

Here's my outfit today. I don't really love it but I figured it was about time I posted one. Also worn to go outside were a black cardigan and a "leather" biker style jacket from Charlotte Russe? Or however that's spelled. It's super old and falling apart but I love it so. Also, here's the premier of my pony hair! Woo! My curls are natural, and I've found that not straightening my bangs gives them more of a rockabilly vibe. I dig.

back in action at Sarah Lawrence. I was going to post my outfit from yesterday but I looked like a creepy demon in my pictures so I decided against it. my docs have been serving me well on my snowy campus, even though they're not the warmest shoes in the world. I'm about to head out to get something to eat, so I'll keep this post brief. stretchy pants = most comfortable thing in the world. some day I'll get a picture of the seams on these pants because they're rad. so anyway, here are some detail shots. enjoy.

The Story Behind The Name

Lydia Deetz is one of the main characters of the Tim Burton movie Beetlejuice. I love this movie and most of Tim Burton's earlier works. Lydia is essentially the ultimate in 90's goth. she's a big inspiration to my style right   now and I just generally love her as a character. it isn't easy to find really good images of her online so I'll just leave you with a few more stills. enjoy.

today is my last day of winter break. tomorrow I head back to Sarah Lawrence. my real home. this is the porch at my house in new jersey, that's one of my cats in the background. while I'm home, any indoor outfit posts will probably be taken here. I'll have to find a good place at school. so yeah, here this is.
